Judge Rayner V.j Snead, this day appeared before the Board as a private citizen, and urgently requested the Board to consider very carefully the necessity of the i building of a new High School j within the County; that a new^ High School is badly needed at the present time; and calling attention to the fait that the County owns a lot upon which to build said High School; that he is informed that there is available in the “Battle Fund” approximately $160,000.00 and $10,000 in the building fund; that he believes the new High School may be built without an increase ip the present tax rate; that it now appears there may be a substantial increase in the taxable property this year.

Mrs. M. Elizabeth Buntin, Superintendent of Public Welfare this day filed a report covering the expenditures and activities of the . Welfare Department for the month of June, 1956, in compliance with Sections 63-67.1 and 63-67.2 of the Code of Virginia.
Ordered that the Board adjourn to meet the first Wednesday in September, 1956.
