In Virginia twenty-two cases of ' poliomyelitis were reported during the-first six months of 1956. Two cases were reported in February, two in March, one each in April and May, and sixteen in June. The age distribution was: one year, 2 cases; 2 years, 6 cases; 3 years, 2 cases; 6 years, 5 cases; 7, 10, 12 and 14 years, 1 case each 18 years, 2 cases; 21 years, 1 case.
