Perhap£ the largest group, of artists to visit Rappahannock, at any one .time, was in October, 10.36 When Mr. Garnet Jex, an Art instructor of Arlington, Va„ hrought his class of 20 to lHamden Hall to paint the apple orchards, farm and mountain scenes. Two of Mr. Jex’s paintings hang in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wade H. Massie Jr., and one by Mrs. Alma M. Winningham, a oupil of Mr. Tex may be seen at Red Hill the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Eastham.
Mr. G. Watson James of Richmond. uncle of Mrs. W. A. Miller finds marfv scenes to paint when jhe visits the Miller home. A very lovely picture by him of our little Methodist Church hangs in the hall of the Miller home. '
