Perhaps the mos: enthusiastic group of trappers in this vicinity, certainly the best remembered were, Bob and Paul Massle, Jack Stuart, French Carter, ] H. Dudley and Joe Keyser. It was to them that the Fur Dealers from Front Royal, Montrell and Sager first came when they started out to buy furs.
It is said their bargaining was unique . . . something never to be forgotten. But|; “The Big Six”, were not the tjnly ones who sold furs in Rappalfanock. There was a trapper on I nearly every farm and after visiting “The Big Dealers”, Montrell; and Sager would comb the County for its fur . . . rabbit skids included.
