TURKEYS There’s nothing that looks like any big change in the next couple of weeks. Thanksgiving committments are probably already largely made but those prices won’t be reflected until holiday birds begin to move. Slaughter figures have pulled out of their recent short slump to start upward again. Storage is 24% above a year ago, 42% above the 5 year average. i In the Valley, heavy hens last week were 26Va to 27c; toms, 24 to 24%c; broiler-fryers were 2626V&C. I Virginia has 14% turkeys this year the most on record, and U.S. production is up 16% oni all turkey* ! ■ \ -

Retail price* have showed some signs of adjusting, with the promise of helping up consumption which h*s been below pair. Storage stocks are light, as much as 10% below last year in all eggs; and the government has bought some eggs and may buy some more. i
