Old friendships wertv renewed and new awes made. “Miss New York Postoffice was chosen in a closely run beauty contest, where each contestant was so lovely that the judges were completely stymied for a while.
His Eminence Francis Cardinal Spellman of New Yark opened the business' session Monday morning followed by reports of national office and addresses by Postmaster General Arthur Summerfield, his assistant, Eugene Lyons and deputy, * Maurice Stans. Some postmasters took a sightseeing trip to United Nations building and China Town, some went to Radio City Music Hall where the famed Rockettes gave their Autumn show’ with color, music and Ballet. The Coca Cola company was host,to a variety show Monday evening, 'featuring such talent as - Dorothv Sarnoff (of The King r and I, fame) Raul and Eva Reyes ’ and, others. They were all so well received that they were forced to give encore after encore. Many groups gave small private parties following the evening programs.
