All ladies at the convention were guests at a luncheon at Hotel Statler, after which the newest fashions for spring and resort wear were shown. What the well dressed resort dweller will wear is probably quite different from what postmasters and wives of postmasters will wear but it was fun anyway. The Couture group of New York Dress Institute gave the show with top models often seen in high fashion magazines.
All ticket# for Pajama Game and Damn Yankees, Broadway plays were procured for the postmasters and everyone went to one of the plays Wednesday afternoon.
Broadway musical stars and Emmett Kelly, the great clown were on the Wednesday evening program, after which a grand march and ball for Postmaster General Summerfield followed. Ray Middleton. Lois Hunt Felix Knight. Jack Russell. Staphnnie Augustine, Maria Neglia (violinist) the Ralph Hunter singers were the stars who brought an outstanding p’-ogram of entertainment from Broadway plays.
Between the planned programs were plenty of time to eat lunch at the Waldorf Astoria, see a new movie, dine at the Taft hotel and enjov Vincent Lopez and his romantic orchestra. Night clubs and fern’ boat rides, shopping, visiting, subway rides, a flower show at the Statler. to mention only a few of the diversions enjoyed between sessions, used all the time until Thursday evening when the big banquet was given at the plush
