LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
October 20, 1956 ~~ I have read Mrs. Moffett’s article on how President Eisenhower gives away all the government’s natural resources to large Republican corporations. For the sake of the intellectually underpinveleged, I will explain just how this works.
Well, large corporations have tens of thousands of stockholders or owners—sometimes hundreds of thousands. So you can see that it is pretty hard to get all of these owners to be Republicans.
Now President Eisenhower has all the deeds to the country’s natural resourses. He keeps them in a desk drawiy, like, green stamps. Naturally, when a corporation gets to be 100% Republican, they become entitled to so many green stamps, so they get them from Ike. Then they take them around to the Treasury and cash them in. The Defnocratic Congress and the Democratic Supreme Court don’t know anything about this because they are too bus>' trying to put Democratic corporations' together, so that they can get green stamps too.
So you can see that it was a good thing for Mrs. Moffett to show how wicked those Republicans are. She eforgot to mention, though, that some fifty odd of Harry Truman’s friends were sent to the penitentiary. ThejTgot a little mixed up between green stamps and green backs, I guess.
