The Rappahannock Board of Supervisors held their monthly meeting on Wednesday, November 7, with all members present except E. M. Estes (serious illness of a member of his family, prevented him from attending.)
Minutes of the October meeting were approved and adopted. The 'Health Nurse filed the monthly report of the Health Department.
The Board authorized the clerk to issue checks to the Judges and Clerks of the election held Nov. ,6, 1956. Joseph T. Warren, Resident Engineer, State Highway' Department, appeared before the Board and presented the final Road Budget which was unamaniously pdopted by the Board. (The Road Budget is filed with the Boards records. ! Mrs. Roberta K. Massie, Commissioner of the Revenue, appeared before the board of supervisors to explain to them that when thegeneral land reassment was made this year, it was found that 3 pieces of land in Chester Gap. J. G- Sealock, William Alfred Sealock Stanley Williams belonging "in Rappahannock were assessed in Warren County. | The assessor had -transferred these parcels from Warren to Rappahannock to be effective Jan !,. 1957. Mrs. Massie had written to these land owners to explain the situation and to tell them that (his exchange was agreeable with the Commissioner of the Revenue of Warren County.
There was some dissatisfaction shown by the land owners because it' would affect their children’s schooling, as they had been attendingWarrcn County school!.
The Supervisors agreed with Mirs. Massie that, since they were in Rappahannock County, they should be assessed there.
B. M. Miller, County Judge, was authorized to purchase two desks, cost to the County not to be more than $40.00.
