State Farm Bureau
Membership in the state’s largest farm organization. The Virginia Farm Bureau Federation totaled 16,285, an increase of 2,203 over the membership at the close of the fiscal year in 1955, H. G. Blalock, president, reported.
Virginia is one of the few states in Farm Bureau that will show a membership increase in every county organization this year. In addition^ six new counties voted to organize new units, bringing the total number of organized counties to 79. Blalock listed the new counties as Rockbridge, Patrick, Amherst, Chesterfield, Warren and Nelson.
In Farm Bureau, Blalock explained, the policies of the organization are developed by the members at the county level. Although the deadline is a few days away for submitting county recommendations to the state organization, it appears there will be more interest than ever ^his year and
