Fauquier County will celebrate the bi-centennial of die county on Thursday and Friday April 30th and May 1st.
A priceless collection of historic relics, one of the most extensive of its kind ever gathered together foil a single exhibit will be on display in Warrenton, Va. these two days. The Fauquier County Court House located on Main Street in, Warrenton will be the site of this fantastic collection which will include such mementds as a love letter written by Lt. Robert E. Lee to Mary Curtis, his future wife; Lee’s engraved golden spurs, two of his swords, His portable field desk,spy glass, boots, hat ,watch and ring will also be displayed.
The early history of this Republic will be represented by Washington relics such as has silver camp mugs, a sword, coat buttons, compass and spurs.
