Wje veered a tenth of a mile off the trail to reach Mary’s Rock. From atop the Rock, the view was \ breath taking and the mountains and baileys impossible to describe. Panorama lay below some 1200 feet with the heavy Sunday traffic appearing as miniature toy autos. The highways to Luray and Washington, winding down the mountain,] could be seen in spots miles

to the tunnel. The steep decent was rough and rocky *nd at times we traveled slowly and cautlbusty. Opce again on level groupd at the highway, the hikers perclied on the stone guard wall to ajjvait drivers who had gone to pick)(up the cars.
