Last Wednesday afternoon a meeting was held by the 4-H Achievement Night Committee at the Court House in Washington. Those present included Jean Lillard, Chairman; Charlotte Mopre, Francis' Updike and Betty Kay Kilby. A full and interesting program was planned for the 4-H Achievement Night to be held Saturday evening, November 7th at the High School at 7:30 pan.
Last Saturday members of the State 4-H Livestock Judging Team, which icludes Randall and Francis Updike, went to Augusta County for a practice workout judging sheep in preparation for the regional judging contest held in conjunction with the Eastern National Livestock Show at Timortium, Md. on November 14th.
The “new” 1960 County 4-H Livestock Judging Team will hold its first practice sessi<*i on Saturday, October 31slt, at HiBcrest Farms, Delaplane, Va. The boys will judge Angus cattle and prizes will be awarded to county t£ams participating. The Rappahannock team will consist of Lyle Updike, Walter B. Kilby, Harrison Powers and David Lyne. Ako present will be the State Livestock Judging Team.
