Applications for employment as census takers for die 1959 Census of Agriculture in Culpeper and Rappahannock Counties will be accepted beginning October 24, 1959 it was announced by the Field Director John G. Gibson of the Census Bureau’s regional office at Philadelphia. >

Persons interested in these jobs should notify Mr. Henry C. Witten at R.F.D. ,2, Culpeper, Virginia, who is serving as crew leader for this area. The crew leader can be readied at the following telephone number: VA 5-0054.

Applicants for census taking jobs must be citizens of the United States, have a high school education or furnish evidence of comparable experience, be in good physical health and of excellent character, and be at least 18 years of age. They must have sufficient financial resources to sustain themselves for approximately four or five week* from the date of appointment until they ^receive their salaiy chejek. Applicants with veteran preference who meet all requirements will be given priority over non-veteran.

Farm census job applicants must be licensed to operate and must provide a privately-owned automobile in good condition. Census takers will be paid 7 cents a mite for official travel.
