Rappahannock boys and girls basketball teams bowed to George Mason on the Rappahannock court Monday, February 1st.
George Mason boys kept a slight lead through the first half of the game and pulled ahead in the second half to win with a 45-57 final score".

It* closely contested play the Pantherettes lost the game by only one point after holding a lead through half time. High scorer was Sh'irley Brown with 22 points.
In the District Nine league the Marshall boys and girls are both in first place. The Marshall girls are undefeated so far this season.

Association Meets
The Rappahannock County Education Association met in the library of the High School last Saturday afternoon, the president, Mrs. George Taylor, presiding. “After the usual business routine, some time was devoted to Mrs. Taylor’s visit to Richmond, where she discussed proposed legislation with our representatives in the General Assmeblv. She found the statesmen and politicians most cordial, and cottrieous_and non-commitaL Mrs. Taylor clarified tte position of the state teacher’s or-' ganizaion so far as any sales tax was concerned. She made it dear that the VEA is „ not trumpeting . for a sales tax—or any particular tax. What the VEA is interested in and what a great number of Virginians are interested in is the improvement of public education in our commonwealth and the raising of Virginia from its present low rating in education among the group of southern states.
