DEAR FOLKS

Hope you all had a glorious weekend. I know we did.

Johnnie Clore of Clore Pontiac in Culpeper told me this morning that he and has wife"visited the Oliver Purants Saturday night and had such a nice visit.

Stella Dennis Johnson has a spanking brand new son 8% lbs. Sus Slaughter, now Mrs. Bill Howie entertained at a shower for Stella Saturday evening at 8 p.m., but Stella missed the shower. She was called to the hospital by the stork a little before 8, but the gifts are lovely^ I understand. Congratulations Bob and Stella.

The Frank Huffs have moved to Sperryville. They will be missed in Washington, and by the Rescue Squad. Frank was always r^ady when the siren blew.

There's just not much news. The folks who don’t have flu have mumps. Heaven forbid that I do not get either. Wade and Dump Massie hive both been sick with flu. Wade is able to be out, but Dump is still put. Tom. sprained his ankle. Dump said he had been going up and down so much nursing them, she guessed it just gave away. He was‘able to go to school today, however. Miss Kate Wal'H;er,

Russ^e Miller, Julia Settle, and a host of others also have flu. I just hate for my friends to be sick on such a wonderful day, as today is. ,

I Came back today to find a letter from Marta Tholand on my desk. If any of you would like to give a friend of yours a pony, a lamb, (they are precious), a pig, (not so precious, but good), or a box of apples from the Rappahannock Hunt Club, just see me or any member of the club and we will be glad to tell you exactly what to do. Don’t forget the Point-to-Point Races are March 5. Start making your plans right now. Everyone always seems to have so much fun. fPt’sone of the first races of the season.

Do not know how the hikers came out yesterday. Sarah did not go, since her mother was spending the weekend with her.

Bob Estes said he had a ball in Richmond. The speeches were very interesting, the food was good, etc.

>> Wish you could have seen Jackie Price Wfth my friend ‘Squirt” Bauer Saturday evening. Believe he is about ready to settle down after seeing a cutie like “Squirt”. We offered Tony and Delores, his parents, a couple of lambs and even offered to throw in a pig, for him, but no sale. Jimmie Williams was showing me around his building n Culpep
