John Strother, son of die late Bom Strohter of Washingon, Va., died Monday, February 1 in Charleston, W. Va. Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 11 a.m. at the Masonic Cemetery in Culpeper.
Mrs. John Hawkins
Mrs. Agnes Jane Hawkins, '85, widow of John M. Hawkins of Slate Mills and a native of Culpeper County, died January 21 at the home of her son Glyde Hawkins of Arlington with whom she had made her home for a number of years. •
Mrs. Hawkins was a daughter of William L. and iHester Hawkins of Culpeper County.
She is survived by three sons, Glyde E. of Arlington, Clinton L. of Annandale and William K. Hawkins of Hyattsville, Md.; nine grandchildren and ten greatgrandchildren. Also surviving is a niece. Miss . Hester Hawkins of Slate Mills. "
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 24 from Geest Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dewey Underwood, pastor of Slate Mills Baptist Church officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery'.

A slight reduction in Virginia’s traffic deaths for 1959 has been announced by Col. C. W .Woodson, Jr., Superintendent of State Police and Chairman of the Governor’s Highway Safety Committee, as he tentatively set the score at 846. The toll for 1958 was 861.
Explaining the use of the word “tentative”, Col. Woodson said that an upward revision could be expected due to late reporting and deaths of people now carried as injured since, ’for statistical purposes, such deaths revert to the date of
