Two hours and two snappy runs left the hunting field in high spirits as well as ready for the Breakfast waiting for them at the Durants.
Over 150 guests streamed into and literally rocked the cheerful white house on The Hill. They came from Philadelphia, Washington and Manassas; they came from Rappahannock, Madison, Fauquier and Culpeper counties.
Three delicious roasted pigs added a robust touch to the generous buffet tables; and Mr. William Smith carved them with an experienced hand. '
Miss Gertrude Durant’s arrival sent a stir of pleasure and admiration through the whole party as she grouted her host of friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Durant’s breakfast party marked one of the gayest times of the Rappahannock Hunt’s 1959-60 season.
