Chester Gap To Organize
Fire Department
The citizens of Chester Gap are endeavoring to organize a volunteer fire department. There will be a special meeting Saturday evening, March 5th at 7:15 p.m. at Greeley’s Store for this purpose. All men of the area are urged to attend the meeting.
Some work has already been done toward remodeling a large barn belonging to Sherman Williams to be used as a temporary shelter for a fire engine which is in the process of being obatined.
4-H Demonstration Contest
The County 4-H Demonstration Contest has been planned for Saturday, March 5. It will be held at the Episcopal parish hall, Washington, beginning at 10 a.m.
There will be contests in all projects taken by the girls in the county. Winners of the Senior Contest (girls 14 and over) will enter the District Contest to be held at Madison on April 23. All 4-H girls are urged to participate in this contest. .
