John Bernard Bolen, formerly of Sperrvville, now making his home in Egypt Bend, was honored Sunday at a birthday party at his home. Mr. Bolen, 84, is also celebrating his 21st birthday since he was born On February 29, 1876.
Mr. Bolen lived at “Tuck-ahoe” until the Shenandoah National Park was established, at which time he moved with his family to the Jake Bowers place in Egypt Bend. He was married to the late Ruby Elizabeth Bower Bolen on August 4, 1906. They had seven children. His second marriage was to Ruth Elizabeth Racer, deceased. They had one son.
