Well, Jimmie and his family leave early in the morning. Guess now we will see Mrs. DeBergh’s “little car” coming into town and things will get a little livelier around here. Thank goodness!
Beans and more snap beans, but I can’t hear of a soul that was very successful with peas this season. Guess we’ll try planting some late ones. Right now we need a good rain, for anything to grow, but so many places around us are much dryer than we are here. Sarah said the grass in Richmond had turned as brown as broom sedge.
Speaking of beans, Sarah left Sally and Susan snapping beans the other morning when she came to work. Getting string beans and snapping beans confused, that evening when Sarah returned hame, Susan greeted her with “Mommie, we ‘strapped’ the beans.”
