Erection Of Signs
Some weeks ago, as a project in their participation in the Highway Safety Campaign being conducted nationally by the Lion’s Clubs and other organizations, the Rappahannock Lions addressed a letter to the Virginia State Highway Commission calling the attention of the Commission to the number of accidents causing injury and property damage on Highway 211 in and near Amissville.
fn this letter, the Lions stated the conditions existing on thtat stretch of the highway between the Amissville lElementary School a^id Mountain View Restaurant and recommended that a study be made with a view to eliminating or at least alleviating some of the Jaivgers therein.
As a result, new signs have been erected in the area calling attention to curves, and the Viewtown Road intersection. The highway median strip has also been restriped to shorten passing zones in the area.
