When Bishop Paul Neff Garber announced the pastoral -appointments at the recent session of the Virginia Annual Conference of the Methodist Church, Rappahannock Charge was among those to receive a new minister. The Reverend and Mrs. William A. Jester moved into the parsonage located at Flint Hill, Virginia, last Thursday, June 23rd.
Rev. jester attended RandolphMacon, College, Ashland, Virginia and received his Bachelor of Divinity Degree from the Candler School of Theology, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. He received his Deacon’s Orders in 1956 and his Elder’s Orders at this past annual conference, 1960. The pastor’s wife attended Brenau College in Gainseville, Georgia.
Song Festival Held
Friday evening the Brotherhood of the Mt. Lebanon Church was host to the New Salem Church members at a picnic supper at the church, followed by a sopg service.
The Shorb Brothers of Silver Spring, Md. were the special attraction, singing and leading singing during the evening.
