Flint Hill News

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Howell spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Miller, returning Sunday afternoon to Lynchburg, where they will make their home.

Mrs. Frank Spalding returned to her home Wednesday, July 20 after spending three weeks abroad. She was met in France by her son, Robert Massie, who is stationed there with the U.S. Air Force, and he spent a twenty-day leave with his mother. On her return, Mrs. Spalding was met at National Airport in Washington, D. C. by Mr. Spalding and her brother, D. W. Kendrick of Front Royal.

Mrs. C. P. Amory of Newport News and Mrs. Warren Eastham of Maryland are visiting Mr. and Mrs. James M. Settle. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Warren Frank of Luray and Miss Kate Walker of Washington, Va. were guests for dinner of the Settles. On Monday Mrs. Settle and her house guests and Miss Walker were in Winchester. Tuesday Mrs. Amory and Mrs. Eastham were over night guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank in Luray.

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Walker. Douglas and Joyce Walker of Falls Church arc spending two weeks with Capt. and Mrs. J. P. Cook. Bob Cook spent Tuesday with Capt. and Mrs. Cook. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Reynolds, Mary Elizabeth and Tommie Reynolds spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nichols. Mrs. Joel Jenkins spent the weekend in Ocean City, Md. On Tuesday, Mrs. Jenkins, Mrs. Barbara Gentry, and Mrs. Frank Cary accompanied County Agent. W. H. Lyne to Blacksburg to attend the Institute of Ruarl Affairs at V.P.I. Mrs. Brue Wood, Miss Frances Wood and Dudley Wood of Newport News and Miss Ruth Wood of Blacksburg left Wednesday after spending some time with Brue Wood at Sunny Slope. Sunday Miss Ruth Stevens was a dinner
