The Flint Hill Firemen will open their four-night carnival on Wednesday, August 3 with a free display of brilliant fire works at the carnival grounds. The three following nights will each have an equally attractive feature.
Thursday, August 4, at 6:30 p.m. (EST), more than 100 entries will be featured in a Grand Parade, including fire equipment, rescue squads, floats, marching units, bands, majorette groups, and drum and bugle corps. Immediately following the parade, the Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire-Company will serve a plate supper for the price of $1.00.
Friday evening, August 5, there will be two free Country Music shows featuring Donnie and Johnnie and the Rocking Rebels with Luke Gordon from radio station WKCW of Warrenton, Va. In addition, Miss Wakefield District will be crowned Friday night. One of the following young ladies will have the honor of being Queen of the Carnival: Shirley Pullen, Ann Welch, Charlotte Corbin.
