1/Ocal 1 elephOne service situation Resolution that the Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Co. of Virginia and the Virginia Telephone and Telegraph Co. be informed that there' is serious complaint about the service charges and about the way in which this general area is divided up into local and toll service rates. The Rappahannock County Farm Bureau feels that it is both too expensive and time consuming to do business by telephone within our general area. The number of phones on many of the exchanges are few, necessitating toll calls to near by neighbors and business houses. We ask that a public hearing be held promptly at the county seat, Washington, Va. where the telephone companies and the people concerned may air their mutual problems with a view to improving the service and bringing the rates more in line with other nearby areas.
A copy of this resolution will be 'ent each telephone company. Further, that a copy will be sent to the Virginia State Assembly, men and senators who represent Rappahannock County with a request that they forward tHls resolution to the committee of the Virginia Assembly which handle telephone legislation. Copy be sent to the State Corporation Commission.
