Large German Carp
Luther Payne of Washington, Va. caught a 7 pound 13 ounce German carp Saturday while fishing in Happy Creek on the Shenandoah River near Front Royal. Mr. Payne said that it took him more than tweney minutes to land he fish which was 33 inches long. He was using sweet corn for bait.
* Johnson Reunion
The descendants of the Red Oak Johnsons will hold their annual picnic August 27 at FUat Woods packing house on Rt. 211 between Washington and Sperryville, Va. All descendants are invited to come and bring their picnic lunch. A large gathering is anticipated.
