Will loved the cowboy life so much he ran away from home as a kid to drive cattle on the flat southwest plains. When Will Rogers obtained national fame as a humorist, entertainer and columnist his language and homes were filled with the symbols of his native land. Some of his symbols we have seen today. The Texas Longhorn, the quarter horse, the ranch and its unique accessories. Will Rogers was born in Oolagah, a town near Claremore, Okla. In Claremore a beautiful museum and memorial is open to the public which reconstructs his life with symbols of heritage.
