With Warren Wilbur as „oaoh,the local girls had a season record of 8 wins and 3 losses. They ended the season with a six-game winning streak, defeating Marshall twice, Clark County twice, Warren County once and taking the championship game from Nokesville;
Nokesville began the game by chalking up a 6-0 lead and it was not until the last of the opening quarter that the Pantherettes made their first basket. After the half Rappahannock started to gain ground and tie the score. The twc teams then inched along side by side, with Rappahannock making three foul shots in the last seconds of the game for their three point victory.
All star awards went to Alia Wood, guard and Doris, Dodsor and Ann Jenkins, forwards. Thes< and Peggy Smoot who receiv<ed th< award last year, will be back nexi year. The team loses three by grad uation: Ginger Russell, forward and Judy Latham and Nancy Latham, guards.
