Sgt. Ficklin Finishes
Army Officers School
Army Specialist Four Ernest E. Ficldin, 21, son of George W. Ficklin, Route f, Amissville, Va., recently graduated from the 7th sioned Officer Academyin Korea.
Specialist Ficldin received four weeks of training in various subjects with emphasis on leadership, the techniques of military instruction and combat tactics. The purpose of the academy is to broaden the professional knowledge of the .solder and to instill in him the self-confidence and sense of responsibility required to make him a capable leader of men.
A cannoneer in Battery B. of the division’s 801 Artillery, Ficklin entered the , Army in August 1959 and arrived overseas last November.
He is a 1959 graduate of G. W. Carver Regional High School, Rapidan.
