House Fire

A Rappahannock family narrowly escaped deaith early Sunday morning when they awoke to find their house ablaze. Mr. and Mrs. Shelton Gnms'ey and their two children who lived between Flint Hill and Amissville, fled frotn the roaring inferno of their fram house with only the clothes which they wore and a pet rabbit.

Mrs. Grimsley was awakened by one of her small children coughing and when she went to the child’s room was met by a dense cloud of smoke. She roused her husband and the four of them fled to safety. ,

Amissville and Flint H31 Fire Departments answered their alarm for assistance but the building was too far burned to be saved- By the time the firemen arrived Ion the scene the structure was falling in.

The Grimsley family have set • up housekeeping in a small building on their farm with assistance from organizations and friends.
