In a recent poll, 81 % of people surveyed said they are willing to give their own time or some money to construct community shelters. 58% favored community shelters, 22% preferred family shelters, and only 19% showed lade of interest.
Many counties are already busy in CD operations. Los Angeles County has appropriated $404 millions in a crash program; Montgomery County, Md., next to the District of Columbia, has a $15 million plan; reports are frequently coming in of activities throughout the entire nation.
