It is apparent the apple marketing program, now approaching the grower sign-up stages, is the soundest, best organized, and most business like effort directed by producers for the purpose of developing practical c o 11 e c t ive bargaining power. f

How much and what it will mean will be proportionate to individual participation!, collective cooperation, and honest sincerity of diligent effort.

Consensus of a remarkably representative group of growers of this area attending the kick-off explanation meeting held Tuesday night at Cab-Inn was most favorable. Pertinent questions were asked and thoughtful answers given in reply.

Our feeder calf producers, feeder pig producers, and wool growers have proven collective bargaining is to their economic advantage. Furthermore the processors of these commodities, that is the woolen mills, livestock order buyers, and feed lot operators who do the finishing are all pleased. In fact there is co-operation across die board. These producers have prestige, have established national reputation for their product and are enjoying healthy public relations.

Apple growers can do likewise if they want to. It looks like they had better “want to” if they are tp make a modest profit and stay in business.
