NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Sections 29-125 and 29-126 of the Code of Virginia, the Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries, meeting at Richmond, Virginia, March 3031, 1962, ordered the proposed changes in its rules and1 will sold a Public Hearing for the purpose of adopting these propos’d rules at Room 100, 7 North Second Street, Richmond, Virginia, 9:00 a. m. April 26, 1962.
Amend Regulation 1 to make the bag limit for deer one a season, staewide, with the following exceptions:
(a) One a season, either sex the first day, in Alleghany, Amherst west of U. S. Route 29, Augusta, Bath, Bedford,-Bland, Boteourt, Campbell, Carroll, Clarke, Craig, Dickerson, Floyd, Franklin, Frederick, Giles, Grayson, Henry, Highland, Lee, Nelson, west of Route 151, Page, Patrick, Pittsylvania, Pulaski, Roanoke, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Russell, Scott, Shenandoah^ Smith, Tazewell, Warren, Washington, Wise and Wythe counties
(b) One a season, either sex, in Accomack on Parramore Island only, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, Greene, Loudoun, Madison, Orange, Prince William and Rappahannock counties.
(c) One a day, two a season', one of which may be a doe, in Accomack except Parramore Island, Albemarle, Amelia, Amherst east of U. S. Route 29, Appomattox, Brunswick, Buckingham, Caroline, Charles City, Charlotte, Chesterfield, Cumberland Dinwiddle,Essex, Fluvanna, Gloucester Goochland, Greensville, Wailifar, Hanover, Henrico, Isde of Wight, James City, King George, King and Queen, King William, Lancaster, Louisa, Lunenburg, Mathews, Mecklenburg, Middlesex, Nansemond, Nelson, east of Route 151, New Kent, Norfolk, Northumberland, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George, Princess Anne, Richmond, Southampton, Spotsylvania, Stafford, Surry, Sussex, Westmoreland and York counties, and cities of Hampton, and Newport News.
Rescind Regulation 72 which prohibits the setting of steel bear traps at any time.
Amend Regulation 4 to include therein a provision to prohibit the trapping of bear, statewide at any time. Amend Regulation 16 to repeal the prohibition against hunting in the snow and reenact to read1 as follows: It shall be unlawful to hunt quail in the snow.
Amend Regulation 34 to repeal the provision which prohibits the game wardens from issuing permits to trap beaver when doing damage.
