Be Held Saturday

WARRENTON, Va., May 3. A highly successful spring agenda of steeplechase racing in the Old Dominion will be concluded here Saturday with the annual running of the Virginia Gold Cup races. The diversified prograiA of six races over the turf, hurdle, brush and timber courses will be highlighted by the 37th running of the Virginia Gold Cup. Paddock time for the first race on the program to be held at “Broadview” is 2:00 pjn. (EST). The featured event, contested over four miles and 22 stiff timber fences has lured a banner field of ten. Cadillac Sideswipes

Horse Trailer

A 1956 Cadillac sedan sideswiped an International Scout pulling a horse trailer on Route 522 east of Sperryville Sunday evening. Witold Victor Kuncewciz of Flint Hill was driving the International and the sedan belonging to Charles F. Richards, Washington, D .C. was operated by Gilbert Isaac Richards of Syria According to Trooper W. A. Burttin, the Richards car sideswiped the other vehicle and failed to stop at the scene of the accident. Richards was apprehended later in Madison County. Approximately $100 damage was done to the vehicles.
