A giant,' county-wide auction sale will be sponsored by the Rappahannock county Rural Area Development committee, Saturday, May 26 starting at 10:30 at Flat Woods near Washington, Va. The committee is planning to publish a brochure “Resort to Rappahannock” advertising the beauties and possibilities of the county, to be distributed throughout the Eastern seaboard. Proceeds from the auction sale will be used to defray printing and other costs. It is expected that tourists, prospective farm and home buyers, and new industries may be attracted to the area as a result of the brochure. C. E. Jones, chairman of the R. A. D. committee and John Cargill of Washington, Va. presented a rough draft of the folder at the regular meeting of the group Tuesday evening at the high school. Mrs. George Davis was chosen as chairman of the auction and Miss Barbara Jones as chairman of luncheon arrangements for the sale. All citizens of the county are asked to contribute saleable articles to the sale. Mrs. Luther Stewart was asked to take a list of donors in Jackson district (Amissville), Mrs. Ray Cannon
