BOSTON, Mass. (FHTNC) —William F. Tapp, radioman third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Tapp of Amissville, Va., received a Navy Good Conduct Medal, March 21, while serving aboard the guided missile heavy cruiser USS Boston, operating out of Boston, Mass.
Recipients of the award are selected on the basis of their professional performance, leadership ability, military bearing and a perfect disciplinary record for three consecutive years.
Before entering the Navy in July 1958, Tapp was graduated from Warrenton High School in Warrenton.
