Upon invitations from the Northern Virginia Foxhunters Association and J. Carlton Clore, incoming president of the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce, the Officers and Directors of the Virginia Foxhunters Assoc, voted to hold their 1963 Field Trials and Bench Show in this area on October 24th, 25th and 26th. -This action was taken at a State meeting held Saturday, March 2 at the Lord Culpeper Hotel^n Culpeper. Bob Apperson, President of the Northern Virginia Foxhunters Association welcomed the group and introduced J. C. Causey, III of Suffolk, President of the State Association who took charge of the business session. In addition to Mr. Clore, a representative of the Chase City Chamber of Commerce was also present to extend an invitation to his area. Upon motion made by the Executive Committee of the Virginia State; who had investigated hotels, motels, restaurants, kenneling facilities and proposed hunting grounds in this area, the previous Saturday, a vast majority voted to come here. In recent years trials held at Chase City and South Boston have attracted 220-240 prize foxhounds from Virginia and adjoining states along with 150-200 owners
