Winchester, Princesses for the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival on May 2-3-4 are now being chosen by participating colleges in the Appalachian area. Four of the blossom beauties announced by Mrs. Joseph A.
Massie, jr, director of the j Festival’s Queen and Court ! Department, are: Miss Winifred Rae Fresh, Frostburg State College, Frostburg, Md* Miss Betsy Ann Sherrer, Shepherd College, Sheperdstown, W. Va.; Miss Mary Eastham Carter, Sullins College, Bristol, Va.; and Miss Lloyd Ann Ramsey. Southern Seminary and Junior College Buena Vista, Va, Miss Carter, 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph H. Carter of Warrenton, Va., and a graduate of Warrenton High School, is a sophomore at Sullins College, Bristol, Va., where she is majoring in Speech Therapy. At Sullins, Miss Carter is editor of “Reflector” and is one of 10 Seniors to appear in the college guidebook. Last year she was in the college Mardi Gras Court and served on the Martins and Reynolds House Councils.
