Marsh Will Speak
At VPA Ad Meeting
U.S. Congressman John O. Marsh, Jr., 36 year-old representative of the Seventh District of Virginia, will be the Saturday night Awards Banquet speaker at the 18th Annual Old Dominion Advertising Conference sponsored by the Virginia Press Association.
The March 28-30 convention will be held at the Marriott Twin Bridges Motor Hotel in Arlington, Va. Marsh, an attorney at law and former Executive Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, has been singled out for many awards both in his home territory, The Shenandoah Valley, and throughout the Commonwealth. In 1959 he was the recipient of the Distinguished Service Award of the Virginia Jaycees as the “Outstanding Young Man in Virginia,* and his Jaycee programs stressing the American Heritage have gair>ed national recognition both from the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce and the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge, Pa. He attended the public schools in Harrisonburg and graduated in law from Washington and Lee University where he was named to Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities and also membership in Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), a national fraternity of collegiate leaders. As an attorney, in S t r a sburg, Va., Mar shhashandled legal matters for state and national banks and represented business and farm interests throughout the Shenandoah Valley.
