Interested in Getting Migrant Labor ? If so, let me hear from you. Alex. Brown of the Virginia Employment Office is scheduled to come by in the near future (exact date unknown). Before he gets here, you may want to come by the office and pickup a copy of “Requirements For Farm Labor Housing in Accordance With Migrant Labor Act Virginia 1962. Dave Nellis, FPS, VEC, says “the State Board of Health will Enforce*. You may want to study these requirements before Mr. Brown gets here so he can answer any related questions you may have, especially as regards inspection of housing and other facilities.
********** Rappahannock Cattle to be T. B. Re - accredited this year. In a previously published “Rapp—Chats* this announcement was made stating that Dr. A. L. Davis, Area Veterinarian of the Warrenton Diagnostic Laboratory would soon announce details.
In a letter from Dr. Davis, he states: “The only parts that must be met for the reaccreditation of Rappahannock are parts a. and b. of paragraph 11. These are as follows: 11. A& qjrasji ^county) may ; be accrddTted'Or re’accredfted for a period of six (6) years, provided that: a. All commercial dairy herds are tested, b. All registered purebred herds that at any period of the year are tested, Dr. Davis states further; “1. A* Commercial dairy herd* is one composed of cattle of the recognized dairy breeds which produce milk that is marketed for human consumption in any form. 2. A “Registered purebred herd* is one that has a minimum of ten (10) registered purebred cattle during all parts of the year and from which registered animals may be sold for breeding purposes. Dr. Davis states further that all but three of our purebred herds have al•ready met requirements ■ while there are twenty odd “commercial dairy herds* which must be tested.
