April 3rd is the date set for the annual road hearing"
in Rappahannock CountV at which time Resident Engineer David S. Butler will I appear with the Board of j Supervisors. Citizens of the county are invited to be present and discuss plans and | proposals for maintenance and improvement of roads in the secondary system of highways. This announcement was made at the March meeting of the County Board of Supervisors. Appearing before the Board at this meeting were Ray T. Cannon and James Hoyle, with their attorney, Thomas W. DiZerega, requesting that land near The Kennels which they have purchased and plan to sell, not be considered a sub-division as defined by the Rappahannock County Sub-division Ordinance. Commonwealth’s Attorney George H. Davis, jr. stated that in his opinion the Cannon-Hoyle division of land should come under the ordinance. He further stated that the Board could amend the ordinance for this exception or that Cannon and Hoyle’ had the privilege to appeal to the court.
After a general discussion and a statement by Gen. Daniel Noce to the effect that the Planning Commission felt that the Board should determine the policy in this case, L. H. Lultrell moved that the Board grant an exception to the ordinance in this case when it is divided into parcels of 5 acres or more and access is by means of right of way. A. H. Buck|
ner added a second to the motion but it failed to carry when all the remaining Board members cast their votes against it.
