, With the consolidation of Fauquier County schools next year, the District Nine, Group II basketball league will go out of existence. There will hot be enough schools of comparable size to continue this conference.
An announcement was made Tuesday that Rappahannock County High School has been accepted in the District Ten, Group II league. Included in the league are Broadway High, Broadway; Central at Woodstock; Clarke County, Berryville; Elkton, Elkton'; Luray at Luray; Montevideo at McGaheysville; Page County, Shenandoah; Stonewall Jackson, Mt. Jackson; Strasburg at Strasburg; Turner Ashby, Dayton; Warren County, Front Royal; and Rappahannock County at Washington.
Gary Deal has come up with theme song for RHS students— “Listen to the rhythm of the falling rain”. Due to a faulty roof ,the hall has become an obstacle course where you try to go from one end to the other without getting hit by a raindrop.
Juniors who took the Merit Scholarship Test this year are Kaye Johnston, Frank Moffett, Dana Snead, Roger Welch, Susan Schaefer, Linda Rowzie, and Segar Jones.

Practice started with a bang Tuesday night (the snow fouled us up Monday) and we have high hopes for the play.
Let me add my congratulations to the Pantherettes. A beautiful trophy! I guess most of you know Marshall lost to the Franklin County team in the District Tournament.
