Appreciation Day
Teachers at Rappahannock High School were honored Thursday by students with a special day set aside as "Teacher Appreciation Day." The faculty arrived to find flowers on their desks and were greeted by students "dressed up”; the girls in heels and hose and the boys with coats and ties. Each teacher was presented a carnation to wear and given an envelope containing notes of appreciation. Bulletin boards shouted messages of appreciation and a luncheon was given in the home economics department for the teachers. At an assembly program speeches of appreciation were made by Douglas Atkins, Alice Jenkins, Nancy Atkins, Joan Lee and Page Moffett.
