Terry Thomas Curtis, 64, prominent Orange dairy farmer and former county agent, died Tuesday, May 21, 1963, at University Hospital, Charlottesville, after several weeks’ illness. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, Thursday, at the graveside in Maplewood cemetery, Gordonsville, with burial in charge of Preddy’s Funeral Home. Son of the late Andrew Eugene and Sally Terry Curtis, of R appahannock County, Mr. Curtis was born there Sept. 14, 1899 and moved to Culpeper County at ,an early age. He attended V. P. I. and served as county agent in Prince William County before coming to Orange in that capacity in 1926. He held this post for 16 years, retiring in 1942 to become a full-time dairy farmer. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis and daughter, Barbara were cited by Progressive Farmer magazine last June to receive the Master Farm Family award. He served two terms as president of Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, had also been firsts fr'ice-pr evident of Maryland" Virginia Milk Producers Association, president of Virginia Jersey Cattle Club and Orange-Madison Cooperative Farm Service, as well as holding offices in other farm groups. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Dowell Curtis; a daughter, Mrs. Wil* Jiam K. Taft, Jr. of Lorain, Ohio; two brothers, Andrew Lee Curtis, Brandy, and Raymond W. Curtis, Culpeper; one sister, Mrs. Ruby C. Watkins, Richmond; and two grandchildren.
