Two Accidents
Saturday morning at 3 a.m. a single car accident occurred on the Luray mountain. Angel L. Fernandez of Fort Campbell, Kentucky was proceeding down the east side of the mountain (Mi Route 211 when he missed a curve in the fog. The 1963 Ford station wagon which he was driving ran across a ditch and up the bank. Fernandez was uninjured. H e was charged with failure to keep proper lookout, according to Trooper Paul Dicks. • On Route 622, two miles south of the intersection on Route 211, the 57 Plymouth owned And operated by Norman Skinner of Sperryville was struck broadside by a 57 Ford station wagon operated by Thomas Junior Starks. Th'e Starks car was being pushed out of a lane by another vehicle driven by James Clark when it rammed the side of the Skinner car. The Plymouth was knocked out of control and into the ditch and bank. Mrs. Skinner received abrasions of the. right knee. Damage was estimated at . $300 to the Skinner vehicle and $75 to the Ford. Starks . was charged with failing to yield right of way by Trooper Paul Dicks who investigated the accident.
Auxiliary Masts Three new members have been enrolled in the Amissvilie Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Braxton James, Lou'Ann Philips and Jean Willis joined the group at the May meeting held last Tuesday. -Business carried on at the meeting included the appointment of a committee to be in charge of the. carnival queen contest held in connection with the annual carnival in August, This cbmihiftee is comprised of Mrs. Everett Smith, Mrs. Raymond Poe and Mrs. Eddie Hitt. _
