By Mrs. Alice Dorsey Roger Sparks, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sparks was given a party honoring his 12th birthday on Sunday, March 15 by his aunt and uncle Mr. and Mrs. Richard Welch of Haymarket. Those attending in addition to his parents and family were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Anderson and son Jay of Broad Run, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bentley and children of Leesburg, Mrs Emma Jenkins and two sons of Catharpin and Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson and daughter of Warrenton. C. J. Ireland, president of the Northern Virginia Fox Hunters Assoc, was inLincolrv ton, Georgia all last week to attend the field trials there. He returned home Saturday evening. On Sunday, March 1, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Burke were overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Butler and family in Arlington and on Monday attended the funeral of Robert E. Hawkins, Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Winkler andMrs.Gaw nett Pierce also attended. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Carlyle Brown was called to Washington, D. C. on Saturday by the death of his brother-inlaw Robert E, Hawkins, Sr. He was accompanied by Jesse Smith. They were overnight guests of Mrs. Hawkins, Sr. and Robert E. Hawkins, Jr. They returned to Boston on Sunday.
