FFA Judging Team
First In Federation
The FFA livestock judging team of Rappahannock County High, School placed first in the Northern Triangle Fed* e ration judgi ng competition: last Friday in Clark County.' High individual scorer in the federation was Wayne Payne of the Rappahannock team. Other: team members were Jimmy Latham and Donald Williams. The local team scored 777 out of a possible 900 and Wayne Payne- scored 280 individual points out of 300. They judged classes of hogs, sheep and beef cattle. The team received a plaque and Wayne was given a gold medal for his individual work. The three boys left Monday for Blacksburg where they entered state competition at Virginia Polytechnic Institute. They will return home today after four days judging livestock. They were accompanied by F. S. Boze, Vo-Ag Instructor.
Five FFA students trained for the judging team but due to a mix up in time schedules thrQugh no fault of theirs, Billy Mundy and Kenneth Payne did not attend the judging contest. Donald Williams had actually trained for shop judging at VPI.
Bible School Scheduled At F.T. Baptist Church
The Daily Vacation Bible ; School will begin at 9 a.m. on i Monday, June 22nd at the F.T. Church. [ Miss Ouida Tanner, who . served last year as principal of the school, will be principal again this year. She and her faculty enrolled 65 boys and 1 girls last year and will again . welcome all F. T. Community . children. ^ Registration for the school will be held at the church at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19.
