Mrs. Johnson Hostess For H. D. Club The June meeting of the Woodville H. D. Club was held at the home of Mrs. C. B. Johnson on Thursday, June 10th. Miss Harriet Goode gave a demonstration qn 'Making Your Ironing Day Brighter* to the following ladies: Mrs. B. G. Titchenell, Miss Nellie Johnson, Miss Mattie Rector, Mrs. Jamfes Falls, Mrs. Sam Barber and Mrs. Johnson. The July meeting will be the annual picnic on July 2 at 12;30 with the Misses Lillie and Nellie Johnson. At this time the group expects to welcome the hew home agent Miss Doris Daugherty.

H. S. Barksdale and the Rev. James B. Grimmer attended the Virginia Methodist Annual Conference held last week in Roanoke. Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Wood and Mrs. Wood's mother Mrs. Hadasah Dunn were in Newport News for the week-end and attended the wedding Saturday of Miss Penny Gay. Mrs. Dunn remained to visit her daughter Mrs. Richard Gay and family. Saturday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Corbin were Mr. and Mrs. Dennis L. Corbin of Charlottesville. Suit day visitors were the Corbin’s son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Wince and family of Middleburg. Guests for luncheon and the day last Wednesday of Mrs. John S. Browning were Mrs. C. B. Palmer of Washington, Mrs. Lock Burford and Mrs. Irvin Wolf of Sperryville. Mrs. Fannie Eastham attended commencement exercises of the seventh grade at Hume last Monday evening where her grandson Byrd East ham was a member of the graduating class.
