Because of out of county 4-H activities, I will not meet with the horse and pony club this summer. The • 4-H short course will be held next week, June 2227. The boys going from Rappa hannock County are Ellis Smith and Harold Walker. Harold also is the county 4-H share-the-fun winner. Friday, June 19, is the deadline for sending applications to Charlotte Foster of Flint Hill for the 4-H educational tour to Washington, D. C. on June 30. We will all meet at Washington, Virginia at 7:00 a.m. and leave by chartered bus. We will visit the Arlington National Cemetery, the Custls-Lee Mansion, the Bureau of Printing and Engraving, the National Capitol, Congressman Marsh, and the National 4-H Center. We hope to get back about 7:00 p.m. The County 4-H picnic will be July 15 at the Hawksblll Recreation Park (Schulers) near Stanley. Club members will bring their lunch. Guests can be invited.
